In this video I look at the prologue of Martin Heidegger’s Being and Time where he lays out the project of the entire book. To anyone who can read, the prologue clearly states that being itself is at stake. Being and Time is hence not an exercise in social philosophy or anthropology. It is not proto-existentialism either. Rather Being and Time is the attempt to reconnect us with the most fundamental question that drives history: the question of being.
